Exciting and Not Exciting Stuff

Exciting

• The potential for truly great mirrorless cameras (none yet).
• A Sony RX2R with a 54MP sensor and optimized 21mm and 35mm lens options, possibly with a medium format Sony sensor.
• 4K video in a mirrorless camera (1080p sucks with all present still cameras).
• Zeiss Otus lenses on future 50-60MP DSLR with high-res EVF and retina LCD.

Exciting but seriously flawed

• Sony A7R (shutter vibration and lossy compression issues, awful menus).

Decidedly unexciting

• Fujifilm X system (limited resolution cropped sensor).
• Leica M Typ 240 (great glass, but where is my 36MP and high-res EVF?).
• Micro Four Thirds (cannot compete with full frame mirrorless for stills).
• Nikon D800, Canon 5D Mark III (boring workhorse 3-5 year old designs).
