Worth Converting to a New Mac Pro?
Many photographers use Mac systems. For minimal gain, I’m converting to the new 2013 Mac Pro, mainly because of what I need to do for MacPerformanceGuide.com—have to stay abreast of things.
I don’t advise anyone who is satisfied with a current Mac Pro to do anything but keep using what they are using unless some specific gain is seen (Unless spending $7000 or so is pocket change). I expect marginal gains in performance in the 10-15% range (barely noticeable), unless specific software can really exploit the GPUs of the new Mac Pro.
