Reader Asks: 75mm or 90mm for Leica M Typ 240?
See Guide to Leica for more on the Leica M Typ 240 and Leica lenses.

I got the 35/2 Summicron-M ASPH. First and only lens.
I want to buy my second and final lens, could not decide between 75 or 90. If I want to shoot portrait (indoors) and outdoor photography. Which is a better choice 75 or 90?
Do I also need the EVF?
DIGLLOYD: The 90mm is technically a nudge better but I personally prefer the 75mm.
EVF: a big plus because the rangefinder is at the limit of its precision at 90mm. I had a very difficult time focusing at 90mm for precision results at f/2, though some people say they can do OK. And that presumes the rangefinder + lens coupling is perfect and stays that way across the entire near/far focusing range—dubious.
To round out the range, I’d add the highest performance wide-angle that Leica makes, the 24mm f/3.8 Elmar-M ASPH. Or going for bulk and the flexibility of ~3 stops more speed, the 24/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH.
