I just received a sample of the Nikon-mount Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM, my previous review coverage of the Sigma 35/1.4 DG A1 HSM having been with the Canon version, where the 35/1.4 DG A1 acquitted itself admirably.

I’ll be reporting on the Sigma 35/1.4 DG A1 HSM using the 36-megapixel Nikon D800E. I just shot a number of series last night, and to sum it up: if only this sort of optical excellence were more common at such a low price.
