Batteries for the Sigma DP1 Merill and DP2 Merrill have been hard to come by, and the camera chews through batteries like Americans eat french fries.

Reader Jim N reports success in using the Kinamax 1500mAh DB-65 battery in his Sigma DP1 Merill. All that’s required to make it fit is to slice off a thin plastic exterior strip:

It needed to have a small piece of plastic cut off in order to fit in the DP1M. I bought a couple of those batteries and performed the surgery. They work fine and cost about half what the Sigma batteries cost.
