Can a 36MP DSLR Compete with an 18MP Leica M Monochrom?
— 21mm Comparison

I consider it my obligation to my subscribers to eviscerate and deracinate the Leica mystique when it is not the best option or value for them. I don’t give a damn whether the camera has a red dot or a name with “N” or “C” on it. I have all the brands at my disposal, and I just say it like it is, which is what my readers deserve.

I also believe that one-offs carry risks of erroneous conclusions, and so hence my addition of this 21mm comparison to the prior 35mm c0mparison. Perhaps a 28mm comparison will also be in the offing (verifying).

Wow.

Ladies, the Leica extension can help your man feel that a certain member is larger, while simultaneously brow-beating him into believing himself incompetent in general for composing and focusing. A great combination methinks (“Man, I just need to suck it up and wheelbarrow the cash over, and then I will feel feel better”). And She will Approve. OK, that’s all in fun for the too-serious types out there. Maybe Zeiss should hire Seal? Leica needs him.

But what about absolute quality for black and white?

Can the Nikon D800E + Zeiss 21/2.8 Distagon compete with the Leica MM + Leica 21/3.4 Super-Elmar-M ASPH?
