Nikon D600: Features and Usability, Value, System Cost

Adding to my review of the 24-megapixel Nikon D600 in DAP, I discuss Notable Limitations of the D600, Live View Issues with the D600, and Worth Saving the Money on D600 vs D800/D800E?.

To my eye, the about $2100 24-megapixel D600 offers superior image resolution and color and dynamic range to the about $3460 Canon 5D Mark III. That’s about $1400 less. Seems to me that Canon has a poor value proposition. Nikon deserves to “clean up” here with Canon’s half-hearted upgrade (5DM3) of the aging 5DM2.
