D800 — More Examples Coming
Update! More D800 examples now published.
...
I was a busy beaver with the D800 this afternoon. More examples will be posted this evening.
By the way, my 3.33 GHz MPG Pro Workstation deals with 36-megapixel Nikon D800 RAW files just fine.
A pox on loquacious docents who can’t shut up when a photographer wants to shoot in the cold wind with knees on the concrete.
I need all my time and energy for my subscribers right now, so all my Nikon D800 efforts and comments and findings now go into my review of the Nikon D800 in DAP. Please do not repost my work; it is the product of much expense of time and effort.
There is a lot of “bar talk” on the web (have a few beers, suddenly the poster knows all about the topic without every having made the comparison or done the work, not that being sober would help). It takes time and meticulous effort to do it right, and I don’t drink beer. My spelling errors are strictly due to red wine and tired eyes, and lately, that’s cheap red wine, dammit. If there is a vintner out there, I will trade a case of good Cabernet or Zinfandel or similar for the fruits of my labor. But to drink only after I shoot my material.
This morning there was frost on the ground (highly unusual), and very blustery too, so taking the shot below I could not even consider using a tripod or Live View. But the detail is impressive, and it is obvious that the D800 is the new resolution king.
As for the Canon 5D Mark III, it’s no longer April Fools day. I will give Canon another chance with the 1D X.
