Is Capturing the Moment with Sony NEX-7 More Leica than Leica?

At the beach today, photographing youthful exuberance, the thought surfaced: is shooting the Sony NEX-7 with classic lenses somehow more of a Leica experience than shooting the Leica M9?

In short, is capturing the moment even better on the Sony NEX-7? Perhaps the new is the old. Or rather the new with the old (lens) is the old, only better.
