Fuji Finepix X100 Shutter Speed And Aperture Image Degradation

I’ve updated my Fuji Finepix X100 review in DAP to include a page on the severe loss of sharpness that can result by using too high a shutter speed at certain apertures (due to the in-lens shutter).

While Fuji’s guidance is right there in the manual, it seems that the problems exist with at last one shutter speed and aperture combination that ought to be OK.

Get the Fujifilm Finepix X100 at B&H Photo for about $1200. Don’t forget the lens hood and filter adapter, which are sold separately.

I’ve also added four new examples to the examples page. This shot was pushed 3 stops in RAW conversion from ISO 200 to effective ISO 1600. The results are impressive. Another example shows that the X100 has an ultra wide gamut into the reds.
