As far as the Zeiss 100mm f/2 Makro-Planar (about $1843), it’s still my favorite focal length in that range, and really a gorgeous lens both in build quality and results. The only caveat is that users should have good eyesight for accurate focus, because extracting its premium optical results requires pinpoint focus.
