I recently subscribed to your various things and just wanted to say how glad I am that I did - really very very good and so nice to see detailed and in-depth thinking rather than quick reviews based on 48 hours use.

I was so impressed that I bought the Zeiss 100mm f/2 Makro Planar almost entirely on your recommendation and it is stunning. I have fitted a Brightscreen split-prism focusing screen to my D3s to help with focus - and it really does work very well (not sure what someone young enough to never have seen one before would make of it, but I grew up using such things and find it much better than the plain Nikon one for MF).

(As an aside: I usually wear glasses and find that the eyepoint on the D3s is not high enough really. I also noticed that my focusing when using the MF Zeiss and Brightscreen was much more accurate when I took my glasses off - not sure why)

I was interested to read your review of the Nikon 35 f1.4 - amazing it should have such a fundamental issue. I wondered if you might add a comparison to the Nikon 35 f2? Here in New Zealand there is $3,170 difference in price between the Nikon 35 f1.4 and the f2 model, so I would love to see whether that huge price difference is justified.

DIGLLOYD: I have a Nikon D3x and a Nikon 35mm f/2 coming, from LensRentals.com. See the discount count under the ad on this page.
